Job Description

Seeking a qualified Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education to support students in a K-12 school setting in Seattle, WA. This contract position runs for the current school year (CSY) and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on students academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across K-12 grade levels.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create inclusive learning environments.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
• Utilize assistive technology and communication methods such as sign language, auditory training, and speech reading.
• Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to meet diverse needs.
• Provide advocacy and support to promote student access and success.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid teaching certification with endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education.
• Experience teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing in K-12 settings.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of instructional best practices and related assistive technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Location: Position is based in Seattle, Washington.
