Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced 5th Grade ELA Teacher to join our team. This role is responsible for teaching a class of 2026 students using the Core Reading Program (EL) . We are looking for a teacher who is confident and experienced in teaching English Language Arts at this level, as we need someone who can step in and manage instruction independently.
Responsibilities:
Teach 5th grade English Language Arts to a class of 2026 students.
Implement the EL Core Reading Program with fidelity.
Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with grade-level standards.
Assess and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure student success across subjects.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment.
Requirements:
Must hold full certification (Instructional I or II in ELA) .
Emergency certifications are not accepted at this time.
Previous experience teaching ELA at the 5th grade level (or upper elementary) strongly preferred.
Strong classroom management and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
