Role Overview

We are looking for a YouTube Performance Insights Analyst who excels at turning complex performance data into compelling success stories and media strategies. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of YouTube advertising, brand suitability, and contextual targeting, who can translate raw performance metrics into clear, visually engaging reports that drive smarter media decisions.

This is not a traditional business analyst or financial analyst role. Instead, we need someone who understands what makes YouTube video campaigns successful and can extract meaningful insights from campaign performance data to inform future strategies who can translate performance data into actionable, easily digestible insights and visualizations for our Senior Leadership, allowing them to drive strategic conversations with client decision-makers and C-suite executives. This role reports to the VP of Ad Operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze YouTube campaign performance data, including key metrics like View-Through Rate (VTR), Video Completion Rate (VCR), Click-Through Rate (CTR), and other engagement metrics.
  • Identify patterns and trends that indicate campaign success or areas for improvement.
  • Develop visually compelling data presentations, dashboards, and reports that effectively communicate key takeaways and actionable recommendations.
  • Evaluate brand suitability and contextual targeting performance to refine strategies and reduce wasted investment.
  • Collaborate with media planners, account management, and data teams to optimize video media effectiveness.
  • Stay up to date with YouTubes evolving advertising landscape, including algorithm updates, best practices, and emerging trends in creator-driven content.
  • Provide recommendations for future campaign improvements based on past performance and predictive analytics.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in digital media analytics, YouTube campaign analysis, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of YouTube advertising, including auction buying, performance metrics, audience targeting, and video engagement strategies.
  • Experience with Excel, Google Sheets, Looker Studio, Tableau, or other visualization tools for sophisticated data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to tell a story with datatranslating raw numbers into meaningful insights that inform decision-making.
  • Skilled in isolating true performance trends by recognizing and eliminating the influence of misleading data, including noise and biased aggregates.
  • Strong grasp of brand suitability, contextual targeting, and the impact of content alignment on ad performance.
  • Familiarity with predictive analytics, eye-tracking insights, or AI-driven ad performance tools is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Self-starter mindset, with a passion for data-driven marketing and continuous learning.
